Hello Tribe.

IllumIKnation Station Grassroots Education welcomes each of you to join your brothers and sisters in learning about subjects that you care about!  We are very excited to bring community education to Pyro De Mayo Festival. This is our 2nd time working with Nelson Ledges, and we’re excited to meet the family and help them teach each other!

For this unique event IllumIKnation Station Grassroots Education has coordinated and collaborated with many great workshop teams to include them on our schedule and help everyone find their favorite workshops! Special thanks to The United SpaceRangers Association, OmBase, The Ohio Burn Unit, The Thought Bubble, and all the other amazing folks who collaborated on this education!

There are FOUR  WORKSHOP SPACES, you can ALWAYS come to the IKS DOME on FIRST ROAD to get directions to ANY WORKSHOP.

Your IKS staff can help you find ALL Pyro De Mayo workshops, including those not located at our dome.  Just come to the IKS Geodesic Dome or find one of our ‘callers in the campgrounds’ and ask where to find your favorite workshop!

We are a 100% volunteer-run grassroots group that travels around to music festivals and other events promoting education, exploration, community, and making a difference in the world. Our presenters are volunteers like YOU who want to share their knowledge, and our topics are as varied as your interests!  Join in learning and sharing with your festi-family by visiting online at www.IKSdome.com, on Facebook, or by email at [email protected],

History of Expanded Consciousness in the West

2:00-3:00pm, By: Professor Chrispy with IllumIKnation Station

Expanding your consciousness is opening the gateway to obtaining a new perspective on your reality.  It is the process of altering our minds for the better, of evolving ourselves through conscious effort and divine inspiration.  Westerners today rarely think about expanded consciousness.  Though it has gained some traction with the influx of Eastern thought during the 1960s and 1970s, most still consider expanding their consciousness to be unimportant.  However this is not true!  For centuries westerners have altered their minds through fasting, mind-altering chemicals, isolation in nature, meditation, and more.  Come learn about how westerns have historically attempted to expand their consciousness, and why.

Kundalini Yoga

8:30-9:30am, By: Patrick Colasanti of Ombase

Kundalini refers to the reservoir of energy that lies dormant in the base of the spine.  Through yogic practices, one may tap into this energy which can then uncoil up the spine and awaken different states of consciousness, as well as a wide array of physical effects. Experience the unique and amazing practice of kundalini yoga bright and early with Patrick!  Kundalini yoga uses sounds, mantra, rhythmic movements, postures, and breathing exercises to raise your vibration.  This practice is open to all levels and will be perfect in conjunction with kundalini discussion and other kundalini yoga being offered at Pyro.  Opt out of any exercises that feel unsuitable for you. Please bring water to drink and a mat or blanket if you have one.  Some community mats will be provided.

This practice is open to all, and will be a lovely addendum to the chakra discussion and meditation on Friday!  Hand-outs may be provided for take- home study.
