Though based in New York, the well-established fire-performing troupe Cosmic Karma Fire can be seen entertaining in both indoor and outdoor venues all across the country, with each member bringing a distinct style and dance to the group. Our friends from Cosmic Karma Fire will teach you the basics and demonstrate some of the more advanced methods of staff and poi spinning as they continue to educate and entertain.  In this workshop, suitable for all ages and skill levels, they will demonstrate all things poi, such as orbitals, transitions, geometric patterns, etc.

 

Chainmail Jewelry making

Chainmail is not just for armor! Join accomplished chainmail artist Tristan for a hands on tutorial and learn to use metal links to make chainmail jewelry. Tristan will demonstrate a simple chainmail technique and walk you through making your own keychain.

In this workshop, a talented artist with a decade and a half of experience under her belt will guide you through the process of making hemp jewelry.  Beginning with the very basics of the process, i.e demonstrating the various types of knots that can be incorporated into hemp jewelry, instruction will proceed to the artistic patterns that can be formed by utilizing those knots and finally to the creation of the finished product, a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Chakra Circus – With far too many degrees and certifications to fit into a 75-word blurb, Amy Pinder is, suffice it to say, eminently qualified to present this workshop, geared toward children, which combines elements of yoga philosophy and circus arts, such as hula hooping, juggling, and basic acrobatics.  All Chakra Circus activities are infused with sprinklings of yogic wisdom, providing children with tools to increase confidence, social-emotional skills, and the mind-body connection, all while having a tremendous amount of fun!

Edenspore is the life project of Robyn Mello. She’s a professional permaculture designer, educator, musician, herbalist, and–in all things–an earth worshipper. Since 2010, she has been heavily involved in designing and maintaining community orchards throughout Philadelphia. In addition, she performs original music and teaches workshops throughout the region, and she has been curating Education and Artisan Vending for South Jersey’s Beardfest since 2015. Take some time on your Saturday afternoon to learn a bit about caring for your body by making and taking medicines from easily foraged, identified, and grown plants and mushrooms in our Pennsylvania climate. Examples and hands-on examples will be provided, resources for future learning will be shared, and some medicines will be available for purchase.

Wire wrapping is a great way to turn your favorite stone or trinket into jewelry.  This workshop covers the rudiments of wire wrapping, including how to get started, where best to acquire materials, which types of wire are ideal for wrapping, some basic weaves, etc.Bring a favorite crystal, bauble, or small treasure and Trina will share basic wire wrapping techniques to get you started.

 

Tree of Life Jewelry

In Buddhism, the Bodhi tree is where Buddha received enlightenment. The symbol is associated with wisdom in the book of Proverbs. The Nordic cultures believed the tree of life to be a magical fount of knowledge.  Attend this demonstration of the construction of several basic designs of jewelry of the tree of life fashion to enjoy this ancient symbol of vivacity and sagacity.  Materials will be provided to create your own enduring work of art.
